My name is Lalit Nadkarni and I’ve always loved to paint. I live in England, after living for many years in San Francisco. I grew up in London, Paris, Mumbai and Kobe. My experience of living in these wonderful cities undoubtedly influence and provide inspiration for my paintings. My current subject matter can be anything from brilliant vistas to the scenes that catch my eye in my daily life and travels.

Often sticking to smaller formats, I challenge myself to capture the essence of a subject quickly mostly through the media of acrylics and oils. If I had to choose my favorite painters, I would say all the Impressionists but also Van Gogh and David Hockney.

I have a Masters degree in Romance Languages and Literatures from the University of London. I also received my initial training in oil painting techniques at the Atelier Lucio Loubet in Paris. I continue to develop my painting skills and in recent years have taken art courses at the San Francisco Art Institute and City College of San Francisco.

At the beginning of 2024, I joined an artists’ collective at Blue House Artspace in Esher, Surrey UK, an artist led working gallery for local artists.

My work is available to view at:
